Cold but a few items need improvement.

I have reached out for support and was left disappointed. Was there an engineer involved in the design of this fridge? Was there a human involved who uses a refrigerator? The fridge and freezer are cold. Yay! The water dispenser is bassackwards. (It takes two hands to fill a glass with the dispenser.) And the ice maker throws ice al over (outside the bin). The ice is wrecking my wood floors.

we bought this fridge with the other Kitchenaid appliances as a package and we are not happy with the shelves in the fridge, they are extremely small and are poorly designed. The shelves leave at least a 1.5 inch gap around the edges and items, jam jars, food products fall off of them. really cheap design. I have called and asked Kitchenaid about replacement shelves and was told, "that they realized the design flaw and new shelves are available for $800, or an newer model" I was none too happy about that since I called within the 1st 5months of owning the appliances. will NEVER purchase Kitchenaid major appliances again.

Overall, I am quite satisfied with this refrigerator. There are a few things I am not completely happy with. Number 1. It takes two hands to use the water dispenser. With my old refrigerator, which also had the inside water dispenser, I could just press the glass or a bottle against the dispenser actuator pad right below the water spout and the water would flow into the glass or bottle. In this KitchenAid refrigerator the spout is below the dispenser actuator pad so two hands are necessary for the same task. Number 2. To pull out the right produce drawer all the way, both of the refrigerator doors have to be opened. Number 3. The freezer drawer is not always running smoothly on the slide rails when I try to close it. Number 4. My previous refrigerator was 26 Cu. Ft. This KitchenAid refrigerator is 20 Cu. Ft. but it feels as if I lost a lot more than 6 Cu. Ft. internal storage space.

It's a beautifully sleek, simple refrigerator. Bonuses I didn't even expect: digital temperature displays for both refrigerator and freezer, beefy knurled door handles, and selectable boost ice-making mode. The stainless finish is attractive and resists fingerprints. The only things I've found warrant my better attention to assembly rather than a design change. I've adjusted the middle storage shelves on the doors up one notch for clearance for taller bottles.

Rusting Stainless Steel Doors

I had my new refrigerator about 9 months when I noticed that the stainless finish was rusting. I contacted customer support and promptly had a technician inspect it and verify that yes it is in fact rusting. He ordered new doors for the top and bottom and came to install them a couple of weeks ago. When he opened the box, only the freezer door was included. So we are now waiting on the two French doors. I have other stainless appliances that are approximately 20 years old and show no sign of rust. I asked the technician what happens if the new doors rust and he said there is no warranty for the doors past the one year warranty. Also, the water dispenser located inside the unit occasionally will stop working, then start working again. I don™€™t know if this is a reflection of the refrigerator or some plumbing issue related to public water line repair. Needless to say, based on these two issues I™€™m disappointed in my new refrigerator. I have always considered Kitchenaid a premium brand.

Fix those door hinges

It™€™s a solid refrigerator/freezer. For jollies I measured electrical consumption for one year: 391kWh or $62 at Sacramento, CA (yearly averaged) rate. Not bad at all! My one gripe is the door hinges. With door shelves weighted with milk cartons and such, any relative opening motion of the doors creates enough momentum that when they hit their limit the whole refrigerator frame slams and flexes. I worry that some weld, bracket or the hinges themselves will fatigue and break. C™€™mon Kitchenaid! The doors are the one feature engaged with during every use. Can™€™t you dissipate that momentum and create a soft opening?

Door sealed is junk.

Historically Kitchenaid has been a good brand, but they have gone down hill. I wish I never would have bought this fridge. The case or "box" of the fridge and the door do not line up. The doors are not even with each other. When you have the main part of the fridge level and plumb, the doors are crooked and cannot be aligned. 3 different repair techs couldn't do it. When we went to look at the replacement, it was also not aligned. Why would anyone want a fridge where the doors aren't even with each other? Save yourself a headache and buy another fridge.

Having several KitchenAid small appliances, I didn™€™t hesitate to consider buying a KitchenAid refrigerator. I knew the quality was there.. my previous refrigerator (Kenmore) lasted 20 years and was wonderful until we had issues with the ice maker leaking. This fridge is so noisy that I thought possibly the motor was going out and maybe I bought a defective one. The ice maker is very noisy also. The interior is much smaller than I expected™€¦. There is limited shelf arrangement and like most refrigerators now there is no butter bin. The foldaway shelf is not practical, it just takes away the use of the shelf below it. The long pantry drawer does not seem very sturdy when you pull it open , it wants to wiggle back and forth. The refrigerator looks very nice and I like the textured handles. I™€™m sure I™€™ll get used to the noises eventually, and have to deal with the lack of space in fridge and little freezer.

Nice frig.. with reservations

I needed to find a refrigerator that was counter depth. This fit the bill even though It did not have the fingerprint resistant finish I wanted. My last frig was a Kitchen Aid and was till working fine when I sold my house. I'm not keen on the handles because they stick out so far which really offsets the whole reason for the counter depth. The water dispenser stopped working less than 2 months after delivery. I'm hoping this model that is more than a decade younger than my last frig, was a good choice. It was an expensive , relatively speaking and as we all know things are not made as well as they used to. It's why it only has a one year warranty? And then, you are encouraged to buy an extendeed warranty. IMHO, if the produce was made to last , they would insure that it would.

Catastrophic Internal Leak and No Wheels

We purchased this refrigerator 12/19/25 (delivery date). Within 2 months it developed a catastrophic internal leak, flooding shelves, drawers, door shelves and the kitchen floor. When I moved it away from the wall, because it had no wheels, it gouged out numerous areas of our brandnew vinyl floor.

I bought this refrigerator a few weeks ago and within the first week the freezer light went out as well as ice appeared on my items in the freezer. The best buy geek squad came out and found the light functioning but stated the freezer side guide rails were crooked. They ordered new parts, installed but now I noticed that there is a one eighth inch larger gap between the refrigerator hinge and top of the freezer drawer on the right side than the left side. The interior full width pantry drawer droops down and open an extra eighth of an inch on the left side, appears to be sagging. I am not sure how this is going to affect the items stored in that compartment.

Maytag 20 cu ft counter dept is better design

I purchased this model, as my 23 year old JennAir compressor was failing, and I needed a refrigerator soon. Best Buy had a very good price on this model so I ordered it. Very nice look on the outside, but the interior is a bit backwards. The Maytag has the large drawer on the bottom, utilizing the door cavity for function and the vegie drawers on above. No butter compartment, the Maytag has it. Also, my Jenn Air that was on its last legs produced ice faster than this "new" KitchenAid. My JennAir was much more quieter than than the "new" KitchenAid.

We spent more money thinking the drawers and shelves would be nicer than the current standard. We were wrong. After just four months the ™€œstainless™€ is rusting. We have all stainless in our kitchen so this is not a moisture issue. The drawers have no guides and just flop around when opening and closing. The shelves can™€™t be changed because of a horizontal bar in the middle of the unit.

Looks great but inside drawers are not very stable. They move around when opening/closing - service tech says there is no fix. Temperatures for inside and freezer are consistent, noisier that same 20 year old KitchenAid model we replaced. Do not like fixed divider in the freezer which prevents us from freezing larger items.

Great look but lack main features

We bought the entire kitchen appliances from KitchenAid 4 months ago ,the Refrigerator looks cool but lack main features like water dispensing not on out side or doesn't have any water storage pitchers ,every time when need water you have to open the fridge and not only that the placement of water dispenser is so off it is very difficult to get water too. Also the Freezer capacity looks big but actually it holds very little otherwise with these two issues were addressed it could have been the Cool Fridge.

Counter Depth Refrigerator/ Freezer

I love this refrigerator. It has added a few inches to my kitchen floor space. It has excellent refrigerator and freezer space. Having the water dispenser on the interior is a good feature.

Not as good as first KitchenAid refrigerator

I bought this 6 weeks ago and needed to have service as it at times was making a fairly loud vibration noise. Service person couldn't really determine the cause, but he did open area in the back found nothing so closed things up. Since then, I haven't heard the vibration noise?? Also, the interior drawers are less substantial as my previous frig. I miss the narrow shelf in the freezer.

I have had it for several months now. It looks very high end, and I feel it was a good value. It does its job of keeping food cold, and looks good in my kitchen.

Needed to replace a 16 year old Kitchen Aid fridge. . Had specific dimensions to work with, luckily this model for the bill. Nice quality and very quiet. Roomy for the size.

Looks great but ice/water lacking

Bought this 3 months ago. Fits our space beautifully. Our concern is with the water/ice. The ice is not keeping up with our family of 4. Like the ice bucket fills up with about 1" of ice each day. Also, the water dispenser is soooo slow. Took 4 1/2 minutes to fill up my 30 oz Stanley cup. I have a repair man coming next week as this can't be normal?

Loud, Loud and Loud

This was my 2nd warranty replacement of a similar one that had a sealed system cooling issue. The compressor is loud when running. The ice maker is very loud. We have to shut the ice maker off a night otherwise it will wake us up 2 rooms away when the water is filling. This unit was my only option at a similar price point of my warranty credit, all others were at least $1k more. Did I mention that it is very loud?

Quiet, efficient, with nice features.

I've only had this for about 10 days, but in that time I've come to appreciate how quiet and efficient it is, maintaining the low temperatures within without the motor running all the time. Offers plenty of shelves. Has automatic ice maker and filtered water dispenser.

Good Refridge

Overall good Refrig. The Refrigerator section is good, well designed, door shelfs could have a lower lip on a few. My only concern is the ice machine. It takes too much area in the freezer. For myself and my 3 family members, we never have used even close to the volume of ice stored. I'll suggest smaller storage tray, allowing for more food storage.

Perfect for a small family

I love this refrigerator and am so happy I made the decision to purchase this model. I like the water dispenser inside the frig - no more run lines down the front. The ice maker is quick. The shelves are perfect for the needs of my small family and the counter depth gives me more space in my kitchen. My veggies are staying fresh.

We purchased a K.A. refrigerator on 11/12/25 and was delivered on 11/1725. Two weeks later the freezer door developed rust. We are still waiting for the part to be installed. Our K.A. range also developed rust after since new on 4/17/25. Now we are waiting to see when our new K.A. dishwasher will develop rust. The factory authorized repair service said the Whirlpool will only cover rust issues for only one year, even if you purchase the extended 5 year warrantee. We have had other issues with the refrigerator and asked Kithchen Aid for a new refrigerator but they refused. We also found out that Whirlpool is the company with rust issues. What are you doing about this?

The refrigerator looks and runs well. I am disappointed that not physical manual or directions came with it. Not even a little start up flyer! My only other complaint is that the draws are loose and move around sideways as I open and close them.
