Whirlpool quality has hit rock bottom

I purchased this range 5 years ago. The door handle is made of cheap brittle plastic and it broke apart shattering all of the door glass and falling apart. Whirlpool will not own the design flaw and they want me to pay half of the range cost to replace the door with the same horrible design flaw. It is that or simply buy a new one. Whirlpool will not stand by their products and therefore I will never buy them again.

High price for horrible cheaply made range

We just got this range included when we bought a brand new built house. Whirlpool is a great brand and have great appliances but this range is not worth $900 at all. First of all, the oven racks are horrible. A pizza would fall through the racks easily. We had to purchase oven mats to fix the problem. Secondly the range isn't self-cleaning. What oven doesn't come with self-cleaning feature? Lastly the broiler on the bottom of the oven. It is very dangerous for a baby and dogs to be around it. Why would you bend down on the floor to broil something ? It doesn't make any sense. How do you expect to clean inside it manually when its way on the floor? I would rather a storage drawer for my sheet pans than a broiler. This is not a easy range to use for elderly people. What elderly person want to bend down to broil something or manually clean their oven? Therefore, these are the reasons why I gave it a one star. I think we will be replacing the range in the near future. Not a well designed piece of appliance.

We have already had to have it fixed due to an F1/E1 error code. Our last whirlpool crapped out after a little over 7 years and that was a double oven, more expensive. We went cheap this time to just hold out for other appliances to age out. We will never buy Whirlpool again. The whole process to get a warranty job was dumped in my lap. Never had to do that before. Luckily I found a good business in Marquette to do the work and the nice ladies processed the case number with Whirlpool. Very sad. Your oven is so poorly insulated that it heats my house when I use it. We find ourselves not using it intentionally in the summer because of this. We use our Breville countertop instead and grill. Amazing what junk you all push now. Sad.

I have this product for less than 4 years. Looks nice but not really worth it. It is always something that breaks. I am currently experiencing gas burner issues. Previously it was a problem with the glass door. At this point I am wondering if it is worth fixing it again or just buy a new stove.

Overall the range is great. Our service with delivery and customer service was challenging. The wrong range was reportedly delivered, confirmation of delivery was not communicated the day prior as we were told it would, customer service was a 40 minute wait to get a person, the second range was delivered without a rack and customer service time was over an hour due to the system dropping calls and 20-40 minute wait times each time we called.

I've had this range for about 4 months now. It's okay, but nothing special. Likes: The large glass on the oven door, easy to see through, and easy to clean. The center burner is nice for using a griddle to do pancakes, French Toast and things like that. The grates on the stove a sturdy and cover the entire stove surface. Dislikes: the outside burners on the stove should be at least 2" further apart (closer to the edge), overall the unit seems to be build with very thin sheet metal, and the leveling feet seem to be really cheap. The front leveling feet were actually bent when I first removed the unit from it's packaging. I was able to bend them back and make them useful, but this shouldn't be built this cheaply. Lastly, every time I use the oven, once I shut it off, I get an Error F1 and E1. I've gone through the installation instructions several times but don't see where I did anything wrong or missed any steps.

Bought one of these from my local Menards - unboxed and first thing I noticed was hardware (screws) in the bottom of the box. Attempted to put screws back and found almost all the screws were either put in sideways or not screwed in all the way. Already wanted to return it but gave it a day to see how it worked. Also, day of return I noticed they used cheap rubber strips for the door which wasn™€™t even glued on. Just touching the strip caused it to fall off™€¦ First fire up if the oven and I thought dang this heats up quick™€¦ (coming from old Whirlpool that had igniters going out) After just running a burn off cycle at 400 for 30 minutes I realized the unit was EXTREMELY HOT. Burning your hand if you touch any of the sides or front. DO NOT BUY IF YOU HAVE KIDS!!! My SO said it was too dangerous to have in the house with a toddler. After researching a bit I found this model has this issue. Extreme heat (180-200F) temps on the glass and sides. Poorly designed and manufactured. Pass on this at all costs - I wouldn™€™t have this in my house if someone gave it to me for free.

Since I have been cooking on this stove, I do not like the grates, they are to high above the burners. I would like the grates to be lower so the flame is more effective when cooking. Also the 2 grates fit together but you have to remove one in order to clean and remove the other one! That is cumbersome. I do not like that. Does this stove have an alternate grate or the 3 separate grates available for purchase?

I've used/owned this range or three months. I have two main concerns: the oven is not well-insulated, so the top, front, and broiler door get very hot when the oven is in use; and it isn't possible to turn the burners low enough to simmer. It is also inconvenient to have a separate broiler and no self-cleaning feature. I wouldn't buy another one. One thing I should note is that I needed to have it converted to propane. I don't think that would change the oven's performance, but maybe it does.

ERROR NOTICE after using the oven only 3 times!

A flashing "F1 - E1 - err" notice is showing on the display after using the stove + oven only 3 times. I mentioned this to someone who knows about appliances, and he said that this model is a poor design, since the main electrical board is located inside the back panel, just above the single oven vent (which faces the stove), and the heat coming up can damage the board. Apparently, it can happen when it's still new, as we have witnessed. I wonder if this problem will keep coming back after they fix it, due to the poor overall design. Have been on hold with customer service for 30 minutes (so far).

I learned about warranties

I bought this 4 months ago, and the service contract. The stove itself cost more to hook up than the stove because it did not come with a conversion kit. Then it was discovered I had a propane leak. Fixing that stuff was expensive. I was told because the stove was manufactured in 2022 the warranty didn™€™t apply. Things I wish I knew. The oven is incredible, I found it incredibly accurate. The door to the oven was held on with Velcro, someone pulled a sneaky. It™€™s actually an L type bracket that holds it in place, ridiculously expensive but again I had to jump through hoops if I wanted it covered by the warranty. I bought the piece myself, fixed it and cancelled the extended warranty. The people you speak with to get your appliance fixed through the warranty were rather rude. The wait times were off the hook. But if you manage to buy a stove like this that has no problems- it™€™s a very good choice. The burners heat quickly. The only downside is if something boils over and you need to clean that mess, you have to wait for a complete cool to remove the grates so you can now clean the mess that got hard because it cooled. Those grates are a little heavy. Outside of everything I dealt with, I actually love my stove

I could not be happier to return back to a gas range. I am extremely thankful to have this stove. The only drawback is mine came with just 1 rack and no broiler drawer. More racks and an option for at least a broiler pan that fit the stove would have been nice to have, or at least able to order.

Feels Unsafe Due to Poor Construction

Had the stove for a little over a month and the knob on the far right got stuck in the on position which took Whirlpool about a week to get it fixed. I don't know how they have service technicians working out here and not have a simple valve stem in stock to change out quickly. Their customer service is extremely slow, I spent about two hours on the phone with them (most of it was waiting for a representative to answer or call me back) to try to get this resolved quicker. They offered no compensation for the extra money I had to spend in order to feed my family as they recommended that the stove not be in use. So I had to choose between hooking up the stove and leaving it on all day (which added to my gas bill) or eating microwaved meals/ eating out. I'm not even going to go into detail about the F1/E1 errors I started getting a few days after getting the stove installed.The only good thing I got from this is the knowledge to avoid Whirlpool products.

I bought this appliance about 2 weeks ago at home depot in johnson city ny. Our refrigerator and oven went at the same time. This appliance was marked down as a clearance item due to a knob missing for one of the burners. One knob wouldnt have been a big deal, easily replaceable. That was the least of our problems. Less than 48 hours of the oven being in the house, the front glass piece was shattered due to a defective spring that helps operate the over door to open and close. This was not only un safe but the customer service following was atrocious at best. The rep that sold me on the insurance I didnt need was absolutely rude and never followed up on his callback. I need his name and I would like to file a formal complaint. I informed the guy that I was at work and my place of employment is a career fire department in NY. He still continued to waste my time. This company from stsrt to finish has been terrible. I would never recommend this brand to anyone. The warranty that I had to buy just for someone to look at my oven for repair was a spit in the face. I have three children under the age of 10, luckily none of them were standing in the kitchen when your appliance decided to just explode. Causing my wife to panic while she was in the shower by herself. This is a major problem. Dont be so proud of your work. Its not good.

So fun to cook on new Gas stove. We moved here a few months ago. Old appliances here. 30+ yo electric stove. The oven would shut off often, leaving food half cooked. So fun learning how to cook on my new Whirlpool gas range -after 40 years of electric. 😍

Decent oven, few minor issues

The oven itself is good, but the timer functionality is not intuitive, and the bigger concern is that the warming drawer on the bottom gets extremely hot (like try to grab the drawer and burn yourself hot)! A few minor inconveniences but overall for the cost we're happy with the oven.

It's going to take some time to adjust to this new range...it is much hotter than my old range and even with the LP gas adjustment and fittings the flame is still too high. I almost regret replacing my old range.
