Disappointed in early breakdown

Although I've had this fridge for about 4-5 years, I'm disappointed that an electrical component gave out causing the entire unit to become ineffective, defrost not working, fridge irregular to light cooling. Cost $480 to fix. Also not happy that the top doors whistle like a north wind as the freezer drawer is closed. The 2 upper doors do not seem to have much "suction" to hold them closed and to close them tight enough. Very little resistance when opening them. Otherwise, I'm extremely happy with the design of it... large crispers, adjustable shelf for large bottles, huge freezer section. Beautiful design. However, removing the freezer drawers for cleaning is a puzzle. We removed the entire front of the drawer to get them out. Surely, this can't be what the manufacturer intended.

this model works well for us as we find it easier to see & reach everything inside rather than having to "search" for "unknown" items. I especially like the drawers in the freezer as it easier to put like items together. My only disconnect is that there are are not a lot of options for shelf height in the frig portion to accomadate taller items. We, unfortunatly do not have room for a bigger, more flexible model so this is still a huge improvement over our previous model.

Bought this fridge 3.5 years only, already the freeze drawer cannot be pulled out. Now I don't know what to do with it, the handyman in my area refused to repair it.... and I can't sell this defected product to others ... Especially it broke down on a long weekend, it means nobody can help and I have lots of food inside the freezer..... super frustrated.

This is an excellent fridge. It is amazing how much more space there is in it. We have everything in it that we had in our old fridge but there is still plenty of space. My wife really likes the lowest drawer. It is the width of the fridge and about 3 inches high and holds all the meats and cheese. Everything is right in front of your eyes when you open the door to look in.

We have had this fridge for just over a year, and it has to have the worst shelving design. We have tried moving the shelves many times, but it is so non-functional, I just don't know what to do. At least it still works I guess... Unfortunately you just don't know by looking at the fridge in the store if it will work for your family. Just very dissapointed.

Really Like this Fridge!

We have had this fridge for almost 3 weeks and I am really happy with it. I have not had a bottom freezer before but wanted to try one. This freezer has a top sliding tray with a divider which is really handy. There is lots of freezer space, very visible. I like the layout of the fridge, things are again really visible. The sliding half shelf to give more upright room is good too. It is nice and bright inside the fridge.This is a smaller capacity fridge than we had for the last 22 years but we can live with that and not store so many unused items in it. It looks very smart, like the handles.

It seemed that anything that you wanted from the previous fridge, top freezer, was on the bottom shelf at the back. You literally, had to get down on your hands and knees to get some things out. This model is much more user friendly and it is easy to get things out of the freezer unit as well.

Pleased to have this opportunity to review my recent Whirlpool purchase. The first comment that comes to mind is, did anyone who ever used a refrigerator in their lifetime have any input in the design of this appliance? I think not for the following reasons. The positioning of the shelving does not allow for adequate storage of items of any height including 2 litre milk containers, juice bottles, water pitchers or wine bottles. The bins located on the side of the door are so narrow and cheaply made that they do not provide any overflow storage. We are a family of 2 - I can only imagine the difficulty a family of 4 must have in storage. The lighting located at the back of the unit is easily blocked by storage of items becoming useless. I do not find that the unit evenly refrigerates items - e.g. the items stored on the door are not as chilled as those on the top shelf of the unit. If I increase the number of snowflakes....the items on the top of the unit or stored near the back freeze. Although not the most expensive unit Whirlpool offers, the price point was well over a $1,000. Why then were essentials such as an egg container, ice cube trays, butter keeper not provided? I have yet to manage to remove the top drawer of the freezer for cleaning. Must solve that problem quickly as it is becoming blocked with ice as I try to maneuver the placement of ice cube trays (thank goodness I didn't dispose of them when discarding my older fridge) into a space that obviously wasn't designed to accommodate the trays. The only comfort I have is that this unit is so cheaply made and poorly designed, it can't possibly last beyond 5 years.

Our built-in space restricted choices on a frig. This one is about 3 inches further out into the room and we don't care for this. The drawers are different sizes so you have to open both doors to open the large drawer and we don't care for this.I found the height between the shelves too small. Removing a shelf helped but the availavle shelf area was reduced by 1/4 and we don't care for this.

I bought this refrigerator from Sears because I wanted a fridge that was economical and it did not have too many gadgets! Simple to use was important. I like the lower drawer because when you are bringing items in the fridge you have something to balance them on for a moment before you close the fridge. Very spacious lower freezer and easy to see what you have in the drawers

Easy easy easy to find stuff. Clear bins are awesome. Love the extra height shelf for bottles and jugs. Freezer drawers are handy and holds a lot of groceries. The automatic beep when door is left open too long is awesome and great for keeping the hubby from spending too much time browsing for goodies!

Nice freezer. Easy to find frozen items as it is right sized. Like the ice tray and slide in freezer compartment. I am only giving it a 4 because I am having trouble adjusting to the drawers in the refrigerator section. Handles are on bottom of drawer versus top which are different for me. This is in a new motor home and looks nice and holds a lot of food.

I bought in a hurry liked the look of this model and was the right height was not aware would be huge gaps on sides -- about 6 inches smaller. Small size is noticeable as can only fit one gallon milk at a time and need to be creative with narrow veggie drawer. Water dispenser really really slow. Attempted to return- switch for larger model was denied

Like all of it's modern features. The only thing I don't like is the short cord, since it's on one side and my electrical outlet on the other side. You can't pull out from wall unless you unplug it, for their is wall on one side and oven cabinet on the other. Electrical cord needs to be about 7' to 8' long to make this easier.

It pees on the floor

This was the only fridge with water on the door and an ice maker that would fit in my tiny kitchen. It pees on the floor about once a day, but with no pattern. We have tried to fix it but can't find the problem/leak and no one will come out for such a small job, so we have to keep a towel on the floor, which is pretty ghetto considering I just dropped over $1500 on a new fridge.

We purchased the Whirlpool 30 inch wide French Door Refrigerator recently and are very happy with this appliance so far. It is quite quiet when the motor comes on and the French doors are easy to open. The bottom mount dual drawer freezer is a new feature for me and thus I am getting used to it. It hold a bit less than my previous freezer but that is o.k. as there are only two of us. This fridge did not come with ice cube trays which was a surprise to me.

Our first impressions of our Whirlpool fridge are all positive. We have found the French Doors to be great in our smallish kitchen, and the space inside is easy to arrange. The freezer compartment is big and works well. Our hope is that the fridge will last for years, but only time will tell.

We bought this fridge a couple of weeks ago. It looks great and fulfills all our refrigerator needs. Great flexibility with shelves. Can store lots of food. Bottom freezer works well.

Needed a small refrigerator that had the features and style I wanted, and this one was the one. Read online reviews and Whirlpool was a top selection. It looks good, seems to work well and I am quite pleased.
